Viva la Casa processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide this data to us yourself. Below is an overview of the personal data we process:
– First and last name
– Gender
– Address details
– Phone number
– Email address
– Other personal data you actively provide, for example through correspondence or by phone
– Data about your activities on our website
– Internet browser and device type

Special and/or sensitive personal data we process
Our website and/or services do not intend to collect data from visitors under the age of 16, unless they have permission from a parent or guardian. However, we cannot verify the age of visitors. We therefore recommend that parents monitor their children's online activity, to help prevent personal data from being collected without parental consent.

Viva la Casa processes your personal data for the following purposes:
– Handling your payment
– Sending our newsletter and/or promotional materials
– Being able to contact you by phone or email if necessary to perform our services
– Informing you about changes to our services and products
– Viva la Casa also processes personal data if required by law, such as for tax declarations
Automated decision-making
Viva la Casa does not make decisions with (significant) consequences for individuals based solely on automated processing. This refers to decisions made by computer programs or systems without human involvement (such as an employee of Viva la Casa).
Viva la Casa uses the following computer programs/systems:
1. FalcoTravel – Booking system used to manage all bookings, options, and cancellations. Ensures proper processing and administration. No consequences: customer data is stored only in the relevant booking and is used solely to provide booking-related information or contact. The data is also shared with the owners of the booked accommodations.
2. Thunderbird email program – Used for communication with customers regarding enquiries or bookings. When a booking is made by email, the personal data provided by the customer is stored in a separate folder. Consequences: email addresses of everyone who contacts us are added to the mailing list for:
3. Mailchimp – Used to send our newsletter (approximately every two months). We use this to keep customers informed about news and offers, and to encourage them to book with us again. Consequences: customers receive occasional mailings, from which they can unsubscribe at any time.
4. Open Office – Used to create invoices for property owners, which include the customer’s name. This is purely for administrative purposes. No consequences.
5. iCloud Drive – Used to store booking confirmations and invoices. Consequences: none.
How long we retain personal data
Viva la Casa does not store your personal data longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected. We apply a retention period of 7 years.
Sharing personal data with third parties
Viva la Casa does not sell your data to third parties and only provides it when necessary for fulfilling our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation. We enter into data processing agreements with third-party service providers who process data on our behalf, to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality. Viva la Casa remains responsible for the processing of your data.
Cookies or similar technologies we use
Viva la Casa only uses technical and functional cookies, and analytical cookies that do not compromise your privacy. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer, tablet or smartphone when you first visit our website. The cookies we use are necessary for the proper technical functioning of the site and for your user experience. For example, they remember your preferred settings and help the website function correctly. We also use cookies to optimise our website. You can disable cookies by configuring your internet browser to no longer store them. You can also delete previously stored data via your browser settings.
Accessing, modifying or deleting your data
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. In addition, you have the right to withdraw your consent for data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by Viva la Casa. You also have the right to data portability. This means you can request that the personal data we hold about you be sent to you or another organisation, in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. To confirm that the request was made by you, we ask that you include a copy of your ID with the request. Please black out your photo, MRZ (machine readable zone, the strip with numbers at the bottom of your passport), passport number, and citizen service number (BSN) to protect your privacy. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, and no later than within four weeks.
