Grottammare

Grottammare - medieval borgo and sunny seaside resort

Grottammare is a charming town on the Adriatic coast of Le Marche – a lively seaside resort with beautiful sandy beaches, mainly popular with Italian visitors, where history and beach life come together perfectly. The town is divided into two parts: the medieval borgo alto on the hill and the modern lungomare directly by the sea.

The borgo alto is a picturesque medieval centre with narrow streets, small squares and historic buildings. As you wander through the alleyways, you’ll discover old towers, charming houses and atmospheric squares filled with restaurants, cafés and small shops. It’s a lovely place to stroll around and enjoy stunning views over the Adriatic coast and the Grottammare lungomare.

Along the coast lies the lungomare, the lively seaside heart of the town, with a beautiful palm-lined promenade and numerous beach clubs and restaurants. Here you can enjoy fresh seafood with sea views, a gelato from one of the ice cream parlours, or simply relax on the beach. It’s the perfect spot for an afternoon or evening by the sea, with a friendly and vibrant atmosphere.

Grottammare is well known for its lively summer events. During the high season, festivals, live music and markets bring energy and charm to the town. The beach offers plenty of opportunities to relax and is especially popular with families and sun lovers.

In addition, Grottammare has a rich cultural side. Visit the Teatro dell’Arancio or enjoy art exhibitions and local crafts that are regularly displayed in the borgo alto.

Whether you love history, gastronomy, the beach or cultural events, Grottammare offers an ideal mix of everything that makes the region of Le Marche so special. The town is perfect for a day trip or a relaxing seaside holiday, full of charm and a lively atmosphere that continues to surprise visitors time and again.
