Cupra Marittima

Cupra Marittima - beach, borgo and water sports fun

Cupra Marittima is a charming seaside town on the Adriatic coast, especially popular with Italian visitors, where history, beach life and a relaxed atmosphere come together. The town is partly situated on a small hill, home to the medieval Borgo Alto, and partly along the coast, where the modern Lungomare invites you to enjoy laid-back beach life and plenty of water-based activities.

The Borgo Alto of Cupra Marittima is a picturesque medieval centre with narrow streets, small squares and historic buildings. Strolling through the alleyways, you will come across old churches, towers and charming houses, while enjoying beautiful views over the coastline and the surrounding hills. In the Borgo Alto you will also find two cosy restaurants where you can enjoy good food and experience the authentic atmosphere of the town.

Along the coast lies the Lungomare, a lively area with various bars, restaurants and ice cream parlours, as well as a beautiful promenade lined with beach chalets and eateries. Here you can enjoy fresh fish dishes with sea views, savour a gelato or simply relax on the beach. The wide sandy beach is ideal for sunbathing, swimming and water sports such as surfing, kitesurfing and catamaran sailing.

Cupra Marittima also has a rich archaeological history. Remains from Roman times can be found within the town, and the Museo Archeologico offers insight into the ancient history of the region. During the summer months, cultural events, markets and festivals are regularly organised, giving the town a lively and welcoming atmosphere.

Whether you enjoy history, gastronomy, the beach or water sports, Cupra Marittima offers a perfect blend of everything that makes the Adriatic coast of Le Marche so appealing. It is a charming destination for a day trip or a relaxing seaside holiday, with authentic Italian charm, panoramic views and a vibrant summer vibe.
